108 Surya Namaskars at Nyay Mandir, Vadodara, Gujarat

Nyay Mandir is a historical building located in Vadodara city, Gujarat. Located near Lake Sursagar, considered one of the most famous monuments in the city. Translated as "Temple of Justice," the building is an example of Byzantine architecture in India.

It was built in 1896 by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaikwad II as a tribute to his wife, Maharani Chimnabai. The design of the monument was created by renowned architect Robert Chisholm, who was responsible for designing several other important buildings in the city. Originally constructed as the Maharani Chimnabai Market, the building has undergone several transformations over the years. It was later converted into a city hall and eventually a courthouse. Today, Nyay Mandir is a testament to Vadodara's rich cultural heritage and remains a popular tourist destination for those interested in exploring India's architectural and historical sites.

The 108 SN team organized an event at Nyay Mandir that involved performing 108 Surya Namaskar with the purpose of connecting with the local community and promoting social engagement. Along with the aim of promoting mindfulness and physical well-being, the event also had the objective of raising awareness about the rich cultural heritage of the place. The team highlighted the spiritual and cultural significance of the practice to help the 117 participants gain a deeper appreciation for the local community and its traditions.

The activity was a success as it helped to promote a sense of solidarity and unity among the participants, fostering a deeper sense of belonging within the local community. Not only did the event benefit the physical and mental well-being of the participants, but it also facilitated connections with the local community and its cultural heritage.
